This condition seems confusing in that some say high heat cause symptoms, and pollution, but for me it is AC most definitely...but this is what I found out, I never liked AC as I didn't grow up with it, but had to have it for comfort...I moved to a new house 5 yrs ago, and about a year later, one sided nasal congestion started each season the AC came on...and only got worse when I went to really cold places...I discovered mold was growing under two areas of under the vinyl in bathroom and kitchen...ServPro did not remove properly, but I didn't know that till a few weeks ago...the mold is back but worse, my point in lengthy post is to say, how many of us are not suffering from a hidden allergen, but are not aware of it, as I was not for 4 years...I am allergic to at least 5 molds out of 7 I was tested for....each year that the mold has grown worse, my symptoms got worse...I have relatives that have complained about AC as well, but I believe the underlying cause of severity is really in an allergen that is either hidden or off your radar...I just had the house tested for air quality and will be getting those results, as well as getting this stuff out of the house...I recommend that you at least get a mold test kit for under $10 at home depot, and test your house and car...sorry for the long post, but, it is an important topic...here's to our healing...also, try tea tree oil in your sinus rinse, just a few drops...google it..

I have VMR too. The only thing that seems to help is cardio-exercise, in the sense that it unclogs my airways. Running up and down the stairs helps as well. This concurs with Robby's statement. The benefits are shortlived and 20 minutes later I'm back to a congested nose.

That's documented "Exercise, beneficial for overall health, may be a useful treatment addition because it produces decreased airway resistance and assists natural nasal decongestion by I-adrenergic–mediated mechanisms.2 The effect of exercise on nasal decongestion is short-lived, but it has numerous other benefits and can be repeated." Journal of Americal Family Physicial, 2005 [http://www.aafp.org/afp/2005/0915/p1057.html]

I use about 300 tissues a day, one every 2 minutes or so. Discharge is clear and transparent. I constant feel the need to snort. 2 minutes after I snort, I feel like there's a gathering of mucus again and I clear.. Its amazing how quickly my nose manages to re-plenish the mucus in such a short span of time. I drink a lot of water to compensate for this. Hot water helps.

I have no other associated conditions. No headaches etc. Just a terrible quality of life.

Location seems to have nothing much to do with this. I've hand the condition in the US and in India. I've had this now for about 15 years. Its progressively gotten worse with every year. It magically away for about 4 years in between.

I also feel like this is causing me to lose weight. I eat like hell, but I don't really gain any weight. I go to the gym regularly and run 2 km daily.

It'd be great to hear from similar sufferers to see what's helped them.

I agree that many people, particularly in my generation ( I am a 20 year old college student) have become addicted to the social medias. This could be considered a bad thing, but its simply change. The world is changing not only how it communicates, but the spectrum is broadening who we can communicate with! We are no longer limited to communication with our colleagues or neighbors, but our reach for communication now extends across the world! I think thats pretty exciting! Good post!
